Last April, we launched MATIZ, a new conceptual culinary space that we are confident is destined to create its own niche among the top restaurants in Malaga.
That may sound arrogant. We’re new arrivals. But it is our confidence that we can offer our customers something unique and different, which is backed up by an excellent team and a philosophy that focuses on sensations and feelings. With these ingredients, we are sure that we won’t take long to position our restaurant among the best in Malaga.
The MATIZ cuisine has been designed to offer an experience that goes beyond gastronomy. It revolves around seasonal produce and the ingredients, but also around the nuances that put our unique stamp on our dishes. From this idea arises the culinary concept in which the chef plays with textures, intensity and the timings of cooking and maturation.
Our chef Marcos Granados is in charge of creating that universe of gastronomic nuances, materialised in a cuisine based on the Mediterranean tradition. A reinvented cuisine with a fresh, contemporary character. A concept full of details and subtle twists, designed as a constant game in which the ingredients, produce and techniques carry the cuisine to the very point at which something good becomes something exquisite.
How much can an ingredient vary without losing its original flavour? Or a recipe, without losing its essence? Creativity in life, as in cuisine, doesn’t always mean breaking the established rules in a radical way. Sometimes, a small change is enough to create something totally new: a new aroma, a new flavour, a new texture or colour. On occasion, just a detail turns something good into something exquisite Sometimes it’s a question of “matices”, or nuances.
